Admissions

How to Apply

The application process at Berlin International is simple and can be completed online:

 

  1. Access the Online Application Platform

    • Fill out the application form and submit your personal details securely.
  2. Upload Required Documents
    After receiving a confirmation email, upload the following:

    • Passport
    • Relevant academic certificates and transcripts (e.g., high school diploma for Bachelor’s programs, Bachelor’s degree for Master’s programs)
    • Proof of English proficiency (CEFR level B2 or higher)
    • Program-specific requirements (e.g., portfolio, proof of professional experience).
  3. Attend Interviews (if applicable)
    Some programs may require an interview as part of the selection process.

  4. Receive Your Admission Decision
    Applications are reviewed based on eligibility and seat availability.

Dates and Application Deadlines

Start into Fall Semester 2025-26:

  • Application Period for International Students: 1st December 2024 – 30th June 2025
  • Application Period for EU Students: 1st December 2024 – 31st August 2025

New students may only start in the fall semester. Transfers into a higher academic semester may be possible in the spring semester, depending on the compatibility of previous studies with our curriculum. Berlin International offers courses on an annual basis.

Language Requirements

All programs are fully taught in English; therefore, proof of English language proficiency is required. German knowledge is not necessary.

If your English proficiency is at CEFR Level B2 or above, you may submit one of the following valid test scores:

  • TOEFL ITP: 543
  • TOEFL IBT: 74
  • IELTS (Academic): 6.0 overall
  • Cambridge FCE: B2
  • PTE Academic: 59
  • BI internal exam/BAU 'English Language Proficiency Exam': 60/100
  • IB Diploma: English A or B at HL or SL
  • German Abitur

Scores must have been earned within the last two years.

If you have not completed high school in a majority-English speaking country (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand) or a bachelor's degree fully in English, an approved language exam is required for admission.

 

Preparatory School

 

If you do not yet meet CEFR Level B2, but fulfill other admission criteria, you can enroll in our English Preparatory School. This 1-year intensive program will help you achieve the necessary language skills before starting your degree.

Admission Requirements

To qualify for a program at Berlin International, applicants must meet the following:

 

  • For Bachelor’s Programs:

    • German Abitur / Fachabitur or an equivalent international qualification (e.g., US High School Diploma, IB Diploma, GCE A Levels).
  • For Master’s Programs:

    • A recognized Bachelor’s degree in a relevant or related field.
    • Additional requirements such as professional experience may apply for certain programs (e.g., MBA).
  • English Language Proficiency:

    • Proof of English at CEFR level B2 or higher is required for all programs.
  • Program-Specific Requirements:

    • Some programs may require additional materials such as portfolios, work experience, or preparatory studies.
